Mount Athos is a monastic republic located on the Greek peninsula of Chalkidiki. The mountain tea is picked and dried by the farmers themselves. Mountain tea was already known in ancient Greece and was considered a remedy for colds and other respiratory diseases. In the Greek mountain regions, the tea is still drunk daily and it is said that this is the secret to the great age in these mountain regions.
