The red date, jujube or breastberry is a tree from the buckthorn family and has been native to the entire Mediterranean region since the year 0 of our era.

In traditional Chinese medicine, the jujube is considered one of the most important medicinal plants. The dried fruits look like dates and give the jujube its most common name: red date. In many countries bordering the Mediterranean, this honey has cult status.

The honey is excellent and has a balanced aroma, not too sweet, not too heavy and still aromatic. Due to the high fructose content, the date honey stays liquid for a relatively long time. When liquid, the color is light reddish brown.
