The evergreen leatherwood trees from the national park on the island of Tasmania can reach a height of up to 30 m. During the six-week nectar flow, the bees collect nectar from the white flowers.

Leatherwood honey is one of the most aromatic and full-flowered honeys. The aroma is reminiscent of the exotic floral scent of tropical rainforests. A rarity for honey connoisseurs. Unfortunately, devastating bushfires have destroyed most bee colonies and large parts of the Leatherwood forests, so prices are rising significantly.
